    diff = diff --ws-error-highlight=all

Line ending settings

On Windows:

git config core.autocrlf true

On Linux (should be default):

git config core.autocrlf input

Show whitespace errors

Also works with git diff:

git show <commit-id> --ws-error-highlight=new,old
